Jeff McAdams' Divorce Survival Tips 10-25-10
Be very careful what you post on Social Media…
Better yet, if you’re about to divorce or in the midst of ending your marriage, post nothing. Whatever you put on Facebook and other social media sites can become evidence to be used against you in a court of law. For example, you may easily have said things that your spouse can use to suggest you are an unfit parent and should be denied the custody arrangement you seek. Or, certain material can be used to reveal infidelity, weakening your case. Whenever you’re in a lawsuit, you need to minimize any potential vulnerabilities. As a general rule, Internet postings these days have become fertile sources of ammunition for adversaries in litigation.
